A successful return from vacation!

The summer vacations are well and truly over. You've enjoyed the sea, the mountains, with family or friends, and your memories will last a lifetime!

Remember for a moment: the tears (of joy) of the children as they rediscovered their favorite club, having given way to tears on the way home; your tears (of joy, too) when you saved €30 by booking your Cévéo stay on the internet; or the unforgettable happiness procured by a family ice cream at Mimizan plage (indeed, you were right to save on the booking fees).

Bref, it's time to take stock! Let's not give in to the "post-July-August" gloom: a few sunburns as warrior tattoos, kilometers in stilts (why try to imitate Romain Bardet at all costs?), eardrums invigorated after Jazz à Luz ... won't have gotten the better of you this summer, quite the contrary.

The death knell for summer jetlag!

But, now you need to think about reinvigorating yourself. It's a well-known fact that vacations ... tire, wear out, LESSIVENT! (Did you say ... laundry?! ☹).

Never mind, chores or no chores, we've concocted a little oniony return to reality for you. Some of you may have heard of "soupe à l'oignon du lendemain de soirée": Cévéo presents "les p'tits oignons de lendemain de vacances". No more jokes. Let's decipher.

Sundry tips ... et d'été

Anticipate the change of pace

In order to gradually detoxify from flexible schedules, pleasurable meals and evenings, long lazy sessions (and if your vacation was long), we advise you to gradually readjust your pace... ENJOY all the way (within reason)! Vacations aren't all year round! But don't forget to adopt some discipline when you get back. The little family will get back into the swing of things very quickly, we believe in you.

Try your photos

On the way home, and if you're traveling by train for example, there's nothing like taking stock of your vacation photos. Sadistic, aren't we? Not at all. It's an opportunity to make a pleasant transition between the vacation environment and everyday life; a way of approaching the return in a light-hearted way, while quietly starting to sort things out. This also applies to your nostalgic tales with colleagues: yes, talking about the vacations will ease the transition.

Provide an airlock between vacation and work

It's almost a luxury, but it proves essential for some. Allow yourself a few quieter days of transition at home, so you can adjust your daily routine and recuperate before resuming work. It's an opportunity to get back on track with your various files and tasks, without the stress of returning on a Sunday evening - the day before the start of the new year for everyone!

Resume ... crescendo ...

At work, you won't be able to get everything sorted out in the first few hours! Don't worry: it will take a few days to deal with e-mails and files left pending. Don't panic, this is normal ... and you don't want to lose out on those well-deserved days off! Prioritize by importance, rough it out, make lists, Eisenhower-style, without procrastinating. Discernment will save you!

Enjoy yourself

Good things come to an end; beach, sand, river, mountain biking, relaxation ... ! The lexicon of vacation happiness is vast. But put into perspective, holidays can also bring their share of stress and worries. So: make the most of your vacations, and apply them to your everyday life. Mind you, by best, we're really talking about the best of the best: pressure-relieving sport, free time, outings, laughter and family memories. Onions, gratin ... you still follow?

Bref, you don't need to be on vacation to sip a little drink on the terrace. An afterwork in Bermuda shorts? A meeting/lunch combo in flip-flops and a suit? No problem, as long as the vacation spirit persists, you're in business! Beware, however, of drifting into bad habits if the temptation to prolong these little vacation pleasures lasts.

Think of next times!

You've been back for a few days. It seems a long time already, doesn't it? The manager passes behind your desk, a tab stealthily closes on your PC. You've been caught surfing the Cévéo vacances website. It's not pretty. We won't hold it against you: studies show that it's a positive thing to prepare for a new vacation after a holiday, while still basking in positive emotions (maybe not at work, though).

Giving yourself a little break around the summer vacations is a good idea! Now that's a milestone! Phew, you can breathe easy.

As you can see, at Cévéo, we know all about best practices. #MeetingEnBermuda

To sum up, don't break off your vacation abruptly, it's all about moderation. Whether it's a question of getting back into a daily rhythm, tackling the return to work or studies, take time for yourself, don't overexert yourself, without feeling guilty.

Nostalgia will quickly turn into positive energy. Reuse what works for you, every time, and your vacation returns will be a breeze!
