In the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional du Haut Jura!
Our village of Bois d'Amont lies at the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional du Haut-Jura in Burgundy-Franche-Comté. This park is a project grouping together a hundred or so communes spread over more than 100,000 hectares, and is renowned for its environmental and heritage potential. It therefore abounds in many treasures between mountains, landscapes, species or even museums... but also values that can be found through our Cévéo vacation village of Bois d'Amont Les Rousses, recently rewarded with European Ecolabel certification.
A committed structure
This regional park has many advantages, not least the fact that it joins all the communes that adhere to its charter on common axes. These are important for the region's dynamism, particularly the environment, agriculture and know-how.
The Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park is also recognized by the French Ministry of Ecology thanks to a label for its landscapes and heritage. It's a project built around Sustainable Development and the conservation of regional heritage and know-how.
Heritage and know-how
This Jura know-how can be found in various museums in the region, which you can discover:
- The Musée de la lunette in Morez
- The Musée du Jouet in Moirans-en-Montagne
- The Musée de l'Horlogerie in Morteau
For those with a sweet tooth, you can also visit the historic site of Fort des Rousses, in which the cellars contain all the Jura know-how around Comté cheese and its maturing.
Finally, the Haut Jura also boasts some magnificent natural sites, and this is one of the reasons why it has been awarded its label. Even in winter, you can visit the Belvédère des 4 lacs, overlooking the Lac de Vouglans, and contemplate a beautiful snow-covered landscape. You can also access the Hérisson waterfalls, which here too, even in winter, are an enchanting sight not to be missed.
Environmental protection
The Park therefore aims to protect its environment and its lands. This also includes many species typical of the Jura region, including one of the most endangered predators and one of the largest existing on our continent: the lynx. This territory is very wild, and that's what makes it so rich. That's why so many associations are committed to protecting these species, which are typically found in the Jura.
You can find this wildlife in winter, notably at the Parc Polaire de Chaux-Neuve, just 30 minutes from our Cévéo vacation village in Bois d'Amont. You'll see reindeer, yaks, bison and fallow deer, accompanied by an animal caretaker, who will take you on a tour of the park.

Our vacation village
Our village of Bois d'Amont is entirely concerned by the same values as those of the Haut Jura Regional Nature Park. Indeed, since its creation in 1997, Cévéo has been committed to a policy of sustainable tourism, focusing on sustainable development and ecotourism. What's more, one of the objectives of the Haut Jura Regional Park is to enhance and energize these lands through tourism, which makes our village of Bois d'Amont an eco-responsible player for tourism in the Haut Jura.
As proof of its commitment, the Cévéo vacation village of Bois d'Amont has been awarded the European Ecolabel. In the tourism sector, this certification really brings a guarantee on the reduction of environmental, economic and social impact.
