5 family outings in Isere this winter
Isère has rapidly risen to become France's third-largest department for mountain tourism. Two of the department's resorts rank among France's top ten in terms of visitor numbers and size: L'Alpe d'Huez and Les 2 Alpes. All in all, the département boasts a substantial range of almost thirty ski areas, suitable for all levels of skier, combining downhill and cross-country skiing. But Isère is not to be outdone, offering a host of other winter activities (on and off the slopes) for couples and families alike. Let's find out now about 5 family outings to do this Isère, in winter. In brief.

End of November to early December: FIFMA gets underway
There's nothing quite like enjoying the various pleasures of winter with the whole family, whether they're gastronomic or sporting ... . Culture -also- knows how to be at the rendezvous, with various events all over France. The Festival International du Film de Montagne d'Autrans (FIFMA) is just such an event, and for the past thirty-five years it has been combining mountains and cinema to the delight of film buffs and lovers of the great outdoors. For this year's event (free for children under six), seven main venues will welcome visitors, offering both screenings and unique encounters. Last but not least, the Festitrail will be the highlight of the festival. The 17th edition of the sporting race, with two courses (adults and children), will offer runners the chance to experience a sporting event to the full, at the heart of film screenings, entertainment, concerts...
.03/12: inaugurate the snow market
To get winter off to a good start, Villard-de-Lans invites you to the inauguration of the snow market, on the Place de la Libération (or "Place de l'Ours")! A true mountain village, with flowers in summer and snow in winter, Villard and its small pedestrian village are an ideal, human-sized base for families looking for something rustic and bucolic. This year, Villard will open its winter season with a children's snack offered by the Union des commerçants et artisans!

22/12: search for Santa Claus
To meet the former, you'll have to stray a little way from our Haut-Bréda and Pleynet establishments. But, the toy game is worth the candle! After a dog sled ride, from 5.15pm onwards, youngsters can set off in search of Santa's chalet, through the forest - said to be enchanted - of Chamrousse's Plateau de l'Arselle. In addition to on-site refreshments, there will be urban theater and festive strolls (the "Elégants" (brass band), and "Tornade" by the eliXir company), before the fireworks display at 7:00 p.m.
!31/12: make good resolutions at 1400 m altitude
In our hemisphere, and particularly in the mountains, cold, snow and skiing also rhyme with celebration. So there's no excuse not to celebrate the New Year in style! Luckily, Les 7 Laux resort has got it all planned: a festive atmosphere, sound, light and fireworks will brighten up your evening in a giant open-air disco, for a New Year's Eve Teuf Altitude not to be missed! ? "And you sing, sing, sing that refrain that you like - And you tap, tap, tap, that's the way you like it"?

21/01: celebrate snow and mountains in Vaujany
It is, in any case, difficult to ignore winter sports in this post ...! Quite the opposite, in fact, with this day of snow sports promotion. There's something for everyone, with snowboarding, biathlon and telemark introductions, the Banque Populaire U16 Grand Prix, and even "ski-forme" and slalom events! Numerous partners of the Comité des Sports de Neige du Dauphiné will be present at this ski and snow festival, with their many prizes (!), to help visitors discover the practices, and share their passions.
.Finally, in February 2020, don't miss the torchlight descents and fireworks that will light up Prapoutel aux 7 Laux. Find all the information on this link.
